The story is based on the novel “Ateşle Oynayanlar" by Resat Nuri Güntekin, which is set in the early 1900s during the declining years of the Ottoman Empire. It follows the life of Adnan Ziyagil, a wealthy businessman and widower who lives with his two children, Bihter and Behlul.
