Hi There! I am a self-trained (by trial and error) "cooker" for myself, husband, friends, and family. The closest I have to formal cooking education is my chemistry degree! I love entertaining - usually hosting small, intimate dinner parties. I'm also on a budget so I challenge myself to make the dinners seem "fancy" but actually keep the costs low. I rarely follow a recipe to a tee (which could explain why I never made it as a chemist). I love putting my own spin on recipes by substituting ingredients or tweaking it just a bit. I especially enjoy the challenge of making a recipe "healthier" - whether that means less calories, fat, sodium. I get excited when I discover a delicious, healthy substitutions. I'm a nutrition expert - registered dietitian - specializing in sports nutrition and weight management. I enjoy helping people find the "fun" in food again in my counseling business. I also consult for food companies with products I believe in, including spokesperson work.
