I am an avid reader of fiction and obsessive collector of cooking paraphernalia. I am an equal opportunity collector be it big or small new or antique. If I already have it and a bigger, better one is offered I have to sternly talk myself out buying a second version of whatever IT is, as surely two must be better than having only one! Things have now gotten to the point where the 33 cabinets in my kitchen can no longer hold everything so I every so often go thru and glean out the useless or whatever hasn't been used in forever for the thrift store. I must say I feel virtuous the whole time I am doing this as in "see I am cleaning things up and out". This tendency to COLLECT also shows itself in the room full of books I have saved over the years as I can't bear to part with a good book. I have now done an intervention on myself and once I read a book I set it aside to take to the used bookstore where I get store credit, where you guessed it I can buy more BOOKS. My husband is a prince among men as he good naturedly accepts all this and has for the past 25 years we have been together. Of course he has his own little collections that we don't discuss. I'll just say the word GARAGE and leave it at that. All in all I am a lucky girl and show my appreciation to my hubby with home cooked dinners most nights of the week.
