Why I Love This Recipe
This recipe was created by my mom and it has been a family favorite for over 40 years.
It is extremely versatile too! It can be done in white chocolate, dark chocolate, and of course milk chocolate.
Ingredients You'll Need
Your favorite deep dish pie crust
46 large marshmallows (Kraft Jetpuffed is recommended)
6 Hershey bars or your favorite brand chocolate bar (1.55 oz size bars)
1/8 cup milk
1 pint of heavy whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pierce the pie crust with a fork and bake at 400 degrees for about 12 to 15 minutes until light brown. Remove from oven and let cool on counter
Melt the marshmallows and Hershey bars with the milk either in the microwave or over a double boiler (if using the boiler be careful to not get water in the mixture as it will ruin the mixture). Stir until fully incorporated. Allow to cool on countertop until totally cool (absolutely no heat at all) DO NOT REFRIGERATE MIXTURE TO COOL, IT WILL RUIN THE MIXTURE!
Place your mixing bowl, beaters, and carton of whipping cream in the freezer for about 5 minutes. Once the chocolate mixture is cooled, whip the whipping cream until stiff peaks form (becareful to not over beat your whipping cream).
Fold the whipping cream into the chocolate mixture until fully incorporated.
Pour the filling into the pie crust, garnish if you like and place in refrigerator to set.
