Alan Jackson's Country Fried Steak with Onion Gravy

Why I Love This Recipe
COOKS NOTES:
Serve hot with biscuits, mashed potatoes and salad.
I also added some black pepper. And, I think that it
could be revised to use a little less oil. This was very tasty.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb. cubed steak
1/2 tsp. meat tenderizer
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tb. and 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. oil
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 1/2 c. water
Directions
Sprinkle steak with meat tenderizer and salt. Dredge steaks in 1/4 c. flour.
Heat oil in frying pan.
When oil is hot, brown steak on both sides.
Remove steak from pan. Reduce heat.
Stir in 2 tb. flour and dash of salt.
Brown flour.
Add about 1 1/2 c. water.
Return steak to pan.
Add onions.
Cover and simmer on low heat 20-30 min. until meat is tender.
If gravy is too thick, add more water to make the gravy the right consistency.
Check for taste on salt.
