Allu Gosh - Traditional Pakistani Food

Why I Love This Recipe
Allu means potato and Gosh means Beef… So this is a Potato/Beef Curry “Allu Gosh”
Ingredients You'll Need
First clean and drain 2 cups of Tilda Rice. You must wash the rice no matter where you get it. Then soak the rice in a reg. bowl in hot water .
While you are doing this there should be a big pot of water with about 4-5 cups of water.
2 tsp of salt…when it starts to boil a little then you put the rice in.
the rice should cook for about 15-20 minutes depending on your stove.
(gas stoves might even only take 10 minutes)
Test the rice, if you can smoosh it between your fingers…and it is not hard in the center, it is done.
Directions
ALLU GOSH:
Take one YELLOW ONION and chop it up very very fine and small. No cubes. Very thin slices and then the slices need to be cut more.
(during this time, a pot should have oil getting hot…should cover the bottom.)
Put onions in..kinda stir it around until it gets golden.
(you should have been defrosting 1.5-2pounds of beef stew.)
When the onions are golden put beef in. stir it around until all sides of the beef are a little touched…do not try to cook it all the way.
As soon as the meat is good enough , then you will add all these.
2 cups of water
2 tsp of red chili pepper
2 tsp of garlic paste (paste only…do not use powder)
2 tsp of ginger paste
2 tsp of salt
2 tsp of cilantro powder
1 super small can of tomato sauce…..NOT PASTE
you will also put in something called “White Zeera”
You wont find it anywhere but a Indian store. You’ll want to put a pinch or so in. they are seeds that add a certain flavor
Stir it up and let cook for at least 20-30 minutes. The oil should raise up a little… your
Curry color should be orange/red color. If it is REALLY orange….add a little more tomato sauce...but
