"This is a simple make-a-head salad that is sure to please!"

Serves 8-10 | Prep Time 30 | Cook Time 10 min to fry bacon

Why I Love This Recipe

My mother-in-law used to make this yummy salad. This is a great salad for a large family dinner because you can make ahead. It is also a good one to take to a potluck because it stays nice and fresh until mixed.

Ingredients You'll Need

16 oz salad greens, your choice
2 stalks celery, thinly sliced
1/2 cup chopped red peppers
2 green onions, sliced (can substitute red onion slices)
1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen peas, thawed
3/4 cup Real Mayonnaise or half mayo, half Miracle Whip
3/4 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese, grated
12 slices Bacon, cooked and crumbled

Directions

Place greens in large glass bowl; top with layers of celery, peppers, onions and peas.

Spread mayo over peas, completely covering top of salad and sealing to edge of bowl. Sprinkle with cheese and bacon.

Refrigerate 2 to 12 hours to blend flavors. Toss before serving, if desired.

Note: Salad stays fresh longer if you don't mix.

Fresh tomato can be added to the salad at the time of serving, if desired.

Pairs Well With

BBQ meats, fried chicken etc.
