Why I Love This Recipe

I chose this recipe about homemade fries since they are very special to me. My mom would not make these very often. When she did it would make me very happy since they are very good. “CHEMISTRY INFORMATION:” All of the pure substances and mixtures are shown below. The potatoes and when the fries are done is a heterogenous mixture. Also, the vegetable oil, and when the salt and oil are combined is a homogenous mixture. Cutting the potato into different size and shape, and the potato boiling in the oil are signs of a physical change. The smell changing, also the color change of the pieces are clues of chemical changes.

Ingredients You'll Need

2 cups vegetable oil (Homogeneous mixture)
8 medium russet potatoes (Heterogeneous mixture)
salt(Pure substance-NaCl)


Directions

Heat oil in skillet


Wash/peel/slice potatoes


Add potatoes to sizzling oil


Remove from heat


Add salt


Eat
