Why I Love This Recipe
Ingredients You'll Need
1 cup light brown sugar
1 stick butter, room temp
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 baking soda
1 cup peeled and chopped apples
1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts (optional)
Sugar/cinnamon mixture (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a baking sheet with PAM.
In a large mixing bowl stir together the flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together the brown sugar, butter and egg until light and fluffy. Gently fold in by hand the flour mixture. Fold in the apples (and nuts if desired)
Drop by a tablespoon on prepared sheet. (lightly sprinkle tops with sugar/cinnamon mixture, be careful not to get on baking sheet or it will carmelize and burn).
Bake for 7-10 minutes until lighlty brown around edges. Do not overbake. Store in loosely covered container.
