Why I Love This Recipe

This is a great pie crust. Can be used for tops or bottoms.

Ingredients You'll Need

4 cups flour
1 TBS sugar
2 tsp salt
1 & 3/4 cups vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 cup very cold water
1 TBS vinegar

Directions

Mix dry together.

Cut in shortening until crumbly.

Beat the egg, water, and vinegar together.

Add to flour, and stir until moistened.

Form into 6 balls.
Wrap in plastic wrap.
Refrigerate or freeze until needed.
Let them soften at room temperature until ready to roll out.

Pie crust can be tricky, and it helps to develop a feel for the perfect crust. Not to dry, not to wet. The colder the water the better. I use the cusinart to make these.
