B A Cookies

Why I Love This Recipe
This recipe came from my great-grandparents collection. My great-grandfather was a firefighter and when he retired he took up baking cookies as a way to pass the time. I have no idea what the "B A" stands for (knowing my great grandfather, it stood for big ass), nor do any of my surviving relatives remember ever eating them before. I have made them myself and find them to be quite good. If anyone knows of this recipe under a different name, I'd be grateful for any information...
Ingredients You'll Need
1/2 cup butter (I always use real, unsalted butter)
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate covered raisins
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla (I always use royal vanilla)
Directions
Beat butter and sugar well. Add eggs and vanilla; beat. Add dry ingredients; blend in raisins and nuts. Drop 1/3 cup dough on slightly greased pan. Pat to 4".
Bake 8 to 12 minutes @ 350ºF.
Cool on pan for 2 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in air tight container to stay crisp.
