Why I Love This Recipe

This dish is always a crowd pleaser and must be served with BBQ and at every summer cook out, party and picnic, by request. I love this recipe because it has a few ingredients that make it different from most baked bean recipes. It’s one of my “most shared” recipes. Enjoy!

Ingredients You'll Need

3-4 cans (14.5 oz) of pork and beans (Campbell’s brand if you can find it). 4 cans if you’re serving a larger crowd. Ingredient measurements will stay the same even if you use 4 cans.
¾ cup chopped onion
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 cup ketchup
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. A-1 steak sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard
Pinch of salt and pepper
3-4 slices of uncooked bacon

Mix all ingredients together, except bacon slices

Pour into 9x13 baking dish (sprayed with Pam)

Cut uncooked bacon slices in half and lay on top of beans

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes or until edges are brown and bubbly and bacon is crispy around the edges

*Can be made ahead of time and refrigerated overnight. Add a few minutes to the baking time if refrigerated

*Recipe can be adjusted for a smaller crowd
