Banana cake

Why I Love This Recipe
This is a cherished family recipe from my Auntie Sylvia who was an amazing baker and that we lost very suddenly from a brain tumor about 20 years ago. It is very light and moist - the riper the banana the better!
Ingredients You'll Need
2 1/2 c cake flour
1 3/4 c sugar
2 1/4 t baking powder
3/4 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 1/4 c smashed banana
2/3 c buttermilk
2 eggs
Directions
Mix together the butter and bananas
Add the buttermilk and eggs
Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt
Slowly incorporate dry ingredients into the batter
Pour into a 9x12 baking pan
Bake at 350 for 40 minutes
