Why I Love This Recipe

The easiest bread to make in a pinch is beer bread! My mother-in-law made it for me and I was amazed you could have homemade bread in an hour.

I am not sure if this is my MIL's recipe or if I found this somewhere else, but it's a standby. Even though I don't drink beer I love it when friends leave bottles behind at our house after BYOB parties because it means I get to make beer bread!

**If the beer is really strong or dark the bread will be more bitter. You might have to experiment to see if there are certain brands you like the best.

Ingredients You'll Need

3 c. flour
3 T sugar
1 T baking powder
1 tsp salt

1 beer (standard 12 oz can or bottle)

Directions

Preheat your oven to 375 F.

Grease a bread pan with butter or margarine or oil or cooking spray or something.

Put dry ingredients in a bowl.

Whisk it or stir it up well.

Pour the beer into the dry ingredients.

Stir with a spoon or spatula (don't use a whisk). It will be very sticky.

Bake the bread for 50-55 minutes, Then pull it out, rub a little butter on top and return it to the oven for about 3-5 more minutes (it will be golden brown, toasty, and done-looking).

Eat!
