Why I Love This Recipe
Strawberries are the only fruit that wear their seeds on the outside. The average strawberry has 200 seeds, making them a unique member of the rose family!
Ingredients You'll Need
2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled
1 cup mixed frozen berries (such as blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries)
1 cup Greek yogurt
1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
1 banana, peeled and frozen
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker consistency)
Directions
1. Place the strawberries, mixed frozen berries, Greek yogurt, milk, frozen banana, and vanilla extract in a high-powered blender.
2. Blend on high speed for 1-2 minutes, or until smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a splash more milk. If it's too thin, add a few ice cubes and blend again.
3. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding a pitted date or a splash of maple syrup (optional).
4. Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately.
5. For storage, transfer any leftover smoothie to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours. Shake or stir well before drinking.
