Why I Love This Recipe


Ingredients You'll Need

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 medium bananas, diced


Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x5 inch pan.


In a large bowl, stir together the melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla, mix well. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt, stir into the butter mixture until smooth. Finally, fold in the sour cream, walnuts and bananas. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.


Bake @ 350 degrees for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool loaf in pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Could you use soured whipping in this or would it have to be commercial sour cream? I have some whipping cream that has soured that I would love to use,.

This banana bread turned out really good. As seems to be usual for me, I got started on the recipe and realized I didn't have any sour cream. I substituted 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt and it worked out very well.

I was impressed by how much it rose and got fluffy when it was cooking. Yummy!!

I have tasted this baked by Valerie and it IS the best banana bread! I only hope I can bake it as well. My son loved it too wants me change to this recipe from now on.
