Why I Love This Recipe

We had some blue cheese and some grits lying around the house. This is a very strongly flavored dish but it tastes amazing.


Ingredients You'll Need

3 c water
3/4 c slow cooking grits
1 1/2 t salt
pinch garlic powder
1/2 c blue cheese, crumbled
2 T butter


Directions

Bring water to a boil in a small-medium saucepan


Add grits and salt, stir, and turn heat down to very low (possibly even "warm" depending on your stove) and cook for 25 minutes


Stir every 5 minutes or so. If it is bubbling violently, turn down the heat some more


Remove from heat and add garlic and blue cheese


Stir until blue cheese melts. Some of the blue bits may not melt and that is OK!


Serve in a bowl, preferably with some pulled pork on the side
