Why I Love This Recipe

I have a good friend who loves rum balls. So I searched until I found a recipe. I found one in a recipe book that was over 50 years old, that my Mom used with I was a kid. You know...back in the old days.... But I updated a little to go along with todays recipes. Great for christmas gifts to adults.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 6 oz pkg. semi sweet chocolate pieces
3 Tablespoons corn syrup
1/2 cup bourbon or rum
2 1/2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
1/2 powdered sugar
1. cup finely chopped nuts
1/2 cup granulated sugar (used to roll balls in)

Directions

In a double boiler, over hot ( not boiling) water, melt chocolate

Remove from heat and stir in syrup and rum

In a large bowl combine crumbs, powdered sugar and nuts

Add melted chocolate

Mix well. Let stand for 30 minutes

Form into balls 1 inch in size, roll in granulated sugar. Store in airtight container.
