Bourbon Sweet Potatoes

Why I Love This Recipe
Adapted from a recipe from Delores Vazquez, a good friend and good cook.
Ingredients You'll Need
6 Large sweet potatoes, peeled and cut about 1" thick
2 whole cloves
pinch of cinnamon
4 T maple syrup
2 1" strips orange peel
water to cover
1 C dark brown sugar
1 T dark molasses
1/2 C butter
3/4 C bourbon
1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions
Cook potatoes, cloves, cinnamon, syrup and peel with enough water to cover until just tender.
In another pot, mix rest of ingredients - bring to boil, stir till sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
Arrange potato slices in baking dish, (remove cloves and peel) - pour syrup mixture over slices and bake.
