Why I Love This Recipe

Homemade bread, yum!

Ingredients You'll Need

5+ cups of flour
2 packets dry yeast
1/4 cup of sugar
1.5 tsp salt
1/2 cup sour milk
1/2 cup warm water
3 Tbsp canola oil


Mix the yeast in warm water with a bit of sugar

Mix rest of ingredients with wooden spoon (I normally start with about 2 cups of flour)

Add yeast and keep adding flour to form a soft pliable dough (don't add too much or the bread will turn out hard)

Cover the dish with a towel and let rest about an hour

Punch down the dough

Form into 2 loaves

Cover them and let rise again for another hour

Bake at 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes (until golden brown)

Let cool in pan about 5 minutes
