Burgers and Stewed Tomatoes
Why I Love This Recipe
This was a sis that my Grandfather made up. We would have this often at their house on Saturdays.
When I tell people about it, they are not sure initially.
But, once they try it, they are vey satisfied with this off beat meal.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 1/2 pound ground beef
2 tablespoons diced onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 can stewed tomatoes
mashed potatoes to serve 4
1 1/2 tablespoon flour
1 1/2 - 2 tablespoons water
combine the beef, onion, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce and mix well
Make 4 hamburgers and cook them in a skillet until almost done
While the burgers cook prepare your mashed potatoes
When the burgers are almost done, pour in 2 cans of stewed tomatoes and cover the skillet, simmer for 10 minutes
Remove the hamburgers and make a thickening like you would for gravy
Stir the tomatoes as the simmer until thy thicken
Serve the burgers with the mashed potatoes and the stewed tomato gravy
