CORN CHOWDER ELAINE MAZUR'S STYLE

"I'm not sure where my grandmother got this recipe but this and my daughter Shannons version though different are both very good!"

Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb bacon chopped in 1 inch pieces
2 sm- med yellow cooking onions rough chopped
1/4- 1/2 tsp sugar
About 1/4 C water
1 heaping TBS butter
4 lg carrots peeled and cut in about 1 inch pieces
4 lg potatoes peeled and cubed
3 cans creamed corn
4-5 cans whole milk
1 TBS butter
A few shakes salt and pepper
Directions
Add 1/4 c water , sugar, TBS butter and carrots cook 'til fork goes in easy. But don't cook too long and turn them into mush! set aside
In frying pan cook bacon but not too crispy and remove cooked bacon w/ slotted spoon onto paper towel lined plate
Add onions to bacon grease and cooked til caramelized remove w/ slotted spoon in big soup pan
Roll carrots around in bacon grease to heat back up then remove w/ slotted spoon to soup pot
Cook potatoes in bacon grease when soft remove to soup pot
Empty creamed corn into bacon grease pan when heated add to soup pan
In soup pan add milk salt and pepper heat slowly to good simmer let simmer a few min.s
