Why I Love This Recipe
I grew up with this. I never fully appreciated it until I was an adult.

Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb ground beef (I suppose you could use ground pork or turkey)
1 large can or 2 small cans diced tomatoes
2-3 bay leaves
seasoned salt/ spices to taste
1/2-1 whole head of cabbage-chopped
1 med or 1/2 lg onion- diced
5-8 potatoes
butter
milk (or half and half or sour cream)
Directions
I cheat. I don't make actual meatballs. I just cook the burger because it's quicker that way.
Brown burger/pork/turkey
add diced onion
add canned tomatoes and bay leaves
when it's all simmering, add cabbage. The cabbage will wilt and reduce, and it's hard to add too much. Just FYI
Season to taste (I use seasoned salt and Morton's Nature Seasons because I'm lazy, but you use whatever you want.)
In a separate pot:
peel and cube potatoes. Salt the water or you'll have bland food.
boil them. Duh.
When the potatoes are soft, the burger/cabbage/tomato mix should be done.
Drain the potatoes and mash them with a FULL stick of butter, half and half and/or some sour cream- I don't play when it comes to mashed potatoes.
Serve on top of mashed potatoes. It's freaking delicious. For real.
