Caramel Apple (lab)

This recipe I picked because we made it during school the day before Halloween and it was fun.
Ingredients You'll Need
2 c sugar
1/4 c light corn syrup
1/2 c heavy cream
2 tbsp unsalted salt
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
kosher salt (to taste)
6 apples
nonstick cooking spray
toppings of your choice
Directions
1) add the sugar, corn syrup and 1/2 c of water to saucepan over med. heat, stir before sugar begins to boil, then bring the mixture to a boil.
2)cook until the mixture begins to turn an amber color, then swirl to even out the color, cook until the mixture is a deep amber color then remove from heat
3)Carefully pour in the cream and gently whisk to combine, still in the butter, vanilla and pinch of salt until smooth
4) one at a time dip in an apple using the stick as a handle and allow access to drip off
5) Set each apple on the parchment paper and sprinkle on toppings
