Why I Love This Recipe

No gimmicks. No unusual ingredients. I dare say most can go to the kitchen now and whip up this awesome dish. Chocolate Comfort says it all! Easy, tasty, and most of all comforting on a winter evening.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 C. sugar
1/4 C. cornstarch
1/2 C. baking cocoa
1/2 t. salt
4 C. milk
2 T. butter
2 t. good vanilla extract

Combine dry ingredients in a heavy 2 quart saucepan.

Begin to heat over medium heat and gradually add milk, stirring constantly.

Boil for two minutes.

Remove from heat.

Stir in butter and vanilla.

Serve warm or chilled in individual serving dishes.

My personal preference is served warm with just a touch of sweetened whipped cream and sprinkled with good cinnamon.
