Chocolate Eggnog Cake

Why I Love This Recipe
A friend of my sons (I have two of them) birthday is the 25th of December. When I asked him was kind of cake he'd like he said chocolate with chocolate frosting. This is what I came up with. I have a red velvet cake recipe I've used for years and adapted it to make it a chocolate cake. The red velvet is unusual because it contains no cocoa, so I added cocoa to this one to make it chocolate. The eggnog replaced the buttermilk in the cake.
Ingredients You'll Need
2 each eggs beaten
1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cup coconut or vegetable oil
1 cup prepared eggnog
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/4 to 1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Mix first four ingredients. Beat in sifted flour, baking soda and cocoa.
Add vanilla extract. Pour into a 13x9 inch prepared baking pan and bake at
350° for 30-35 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. Cool.
