"Big, crispy waffles with a touch of chocolate."

Serves 4 | Prep Time 20 mins | Cook Time 4 mins

Why I Love This Recipe

The not-too-sweet batter makes these waffles perfect for layering with fresh fruit, powdered sugar, maple or even chocolate syrup. Slather with peanut butter and bananas for some extra flavor. Guests can add whatever toppings they'd like and, because they are made with Almond Breeze Almondmilk, they are dairy free, helping you navigate your guests’ dietary restrictions with ease.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 ½ cups all purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Chocolate almond milk
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large egg, lightly beaten
Cooking spray

Directions

Combine the first 6 ingredients in a large bowl with a whisk.
In a separate bowl, combine the almond milk, oil and egg. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients; stir together until combined.
Preheat waffle iron.
Lightly spray heated waffle iron with cooking spray. Add 1/3 cup batter to each segment of iron, spreading batter to edges. Cook 4 minutes or until steaming stops and waffle is crisp and lightly browned.
