Ingredients You'll Need

1 cup fresh orange juice (from about 3 oranges)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup coconut cream
1/2 cup cocoa powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 to 3/4 cup chocolate chips (milk, dark, or white based on your preference)


Directions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.


In a large saucepan, combine the orange juice, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugars have dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer.


Remove the saucepan from the heat and whisk in the coconut cream, cocoa powder, and cinnamon until well combined and smooth.


In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.


Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until a thick, sticky dough forms.


Fold in the chocolate chips.


Using a cookie scoop or spoon, scoop out 1 tablespoon of dough at a time and roll into balls. Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.


Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cookies are set and the tops have cracked slightly. The cookies will still be soft in the center.


Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.


Once cooled, store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
