Original recipe from Hattie Clark, and traditionally served at Clark Family Thanksgivings.
Ingredients You'll Need
6 cups of little boiling onions
3 TBS butter
3 TBS flour
2 cups milk
salt & pepper
Clean the onions.
Boil them in salted water until barely tender.
Make a white sauce by:
Melting the butter in a sauce pan
Stir in the flour to make a roux.
Slowly add the milk.
Wisking to avoid lumps.
Gently simmer for a few minutes to thicken the white sauce.
Add the cooked onions.
Season with salt and pepper.
