Why I Love This Recipe

I adore macaroons! Its curious that they are a part of Jewish and Mexican food culture. This recipe is from Martha Stewart and couldn't be easier or more economical. Only 4 ingredients!

On July 4th, I made a batch and took them to two 4th of July parties; they were gobbled up and people raved thus starting the new Independence Day tradition: chewy delicious macaroons!

Ingredients You'll Need

3 large egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 package (14 oz) sweetened coconut flakes

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk egg whites, sugar and salt until frothy.

With a fork, stir in coconut until moistened.

Drop mixture by packed level tablespoons onto baking sheet.

Bake until lightly golden brown, 25-30 minutes.
