Comforting Porkchops & potato's
Why I Love This Recipe
This is what I call in my collection, Back to basics...It's simple, not to many ingredients and has been loved by all who it's been made for...My mother came up with this recipe because she got a new scallop potato cutter. My mother, however, is not to fond of cheese with potatos so she looked at what she had around the house and made this awesome meal....
Ingredients You'll Need
4-5 med-lar white or yellow potatoes
*2 cans cream of mushroom
*4-5 pork chops, bone in, thin but not to thin(bone in optional, no bone is good too)
Salt and pepper
*1 tblsp soysauce(optional, but if you use this remember to lower the amout of salt you put in as soysauce is salty enough)
preheat oven to 350 degrees
*Start by mixing the cream of mushroom, milk, soy(if using it)and salt & papper to taste in a medium bowl very well. Set aside.
*Peel and thinly slice potatos.(you don't want these to thick it will take to long to cook)
*Peel onion and cut long ways then thinly slice each half making sure than your onions still look long.(this helps so you have big chunks onions to bite into if you you don't care so much for onions)
*Season chops with alt and pepper or seasonsalt what ever you perfer)
*In a large cassorle dish place chops on bottom.(they dont have to be even)Now the layering begins. place a thin layers of onions,then potatos, then you cream of mushroom sauce. Repeat this as many times as your cassorle dish will let you or till you feel it will be sufficent for the people you are feeding. Usualy it's about 3 layers. Cover will foil place in oven for 45 min. this is sure to be a hit and get those bellies full. Comfort food does just that, Comforts!!
