6 cups unseasoned popcorn

Cook together:
1 cup oleo
2 cups. brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 tsp. salt.


Bring to boiling stage and boil for 5 min. stirring frequently. At the end of 5 min. add 1 t. baking soda and immediately remove from stove and stir really good. It will lighten in color and be foamy. Stir in 1 tsp. vanilla. (While the syrup is cooking you can place the popcorn in a dish pan or very large greased bowl. Grease 2 9x13" cake pans.) Immediately pour the syrup over the popcorn in the dishpan. Stir to coat well and divide between the cake pans. Place in preheated 250º oven. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 min. When done I pour the popcorn on a clean counter top until cooled. Break apart and keep in sealed container.
