Why I Love This Recipe

I found this recipe in one of those cookbooks that you find at the check out aisle in the grocery store. I haven't made these is a long time, but I've always loved them and am looking forward to whipping up a batch for the holidays.

Ingredients You'll Need

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 Tbs milk
1 Tbs lemon juice
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 egg
1.5 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, coarsely chopped

Heat oven to 375F.

Line cookie sheet with parchment paper or grease.

In a large bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar and butter, beat well.

Add milk, lemon juice, vanilla and egg; blend well.

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Stir into sugar mixture and mix well.

Add cranberries and nuts.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto prepared cookie sheets.

Bake 375F for 8 - 12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.

Remove from sheets and let cool.
