Why I Love This Recipe

This is a batter crust pizza that requires no rising time. The slices are easier to eat with a fork than with your hands but it is worth the extra dirty dishes. I use homemade pasta sauce instead of tomato sauce, and as much cheese (mozzarella, provolone and parmesan) as I can stand. This is the recipe as I got it over 20 years ago...use it as a jumping off point.

Ingredients You'll Need

Batter:
1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. pepper
2 eggs
2/3 c. milk
Topping:
1 1/2 lb. meat mixture (hamburger, pepperoni and/or sausage)
1 c. tomato sauce with mushrooms
1/4 cup onions
1 c. shredded cheese
olives
bell pepper
bacon bits

Directions

Preheat oven to 425. Brown meat (if necessary) and set aside.

Lightly grease and flour pizza pan.

Prepare batter and pour into pan, tilting so batter covers entire bottom of pan.

Arrange meat and onions on batter.

Bake on low rack at 425 for 25-30 minutes until crust is deep golden brown (I baked at 400 for 30 minutes and got best results).

Remove from oven and drizzle with sauce, cheese and other toppings. Return to oven for 10 minutes.
