Why I Love This Recipe

Kids love making their own kabobs! Use pretzel sticks instead of toothpicks to avoid finger pricks and choking hazards, and provide colorful options for even more fun.

This Snack Attack was written by Kim Galeaz, a registered dietitian and culinary-nutritional consultant as well as owner of Galeaz Food & Nutrition Communications, located in Indianapolis and Jacksonville, Fla.

Ingredients You'll Need

4 cubes extra-lean ham, about 1 to 1 1/2 ounces total
4 cubes Colby and Monterey Jack cheese
8 grapes, red or green
4 chunks honeydew melon
4 thin pretzel sticks

Directions

1. Thread each pretzel “toothpick” with 1 ham cube, 1 cheese cube, 2 grapes and 1 melon cube.

2. Serve immediately or refrigerate.
