Ingredients You'll Need
1/2 cup butter-flavored shortening
1 pkg (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
Halved maraschino cherries or candied cherries
Directions
In a small bowl, cream the shortening, cream cheese, and sugar until light and fluffy
Beat in the egg yolk and vanilla
Combine the flour and salt
Gradually add to the creamed mixture
Mix well
Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheets
Top each with a cherry half
Bake at 350 F for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned
Cool for 1 minute before removing to wire racks
