Why I Love This Recipe
Did you know that Parmesan cheese, also known as Parmigiano-Reggiano, is often called the 'King of Cheeses'? It has been made in Italy for over 900 years!
Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb penne pasta
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Reduce heat to medium and pour in the heavy cream. Stir to combine with the chicken and garlic.
Add the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning to the skillet. Stir continuously until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the creamy sauce.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Pairs Well With
Pairs well with a crisp Chardonnay for an alcoholic option, and a sparkling lemonade for a non-alcoholic choice.
