1 cup dates, chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup water
1 1/4 cups flour
1 1/4 cups quick cooking oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
Directions
Combine first 3 items and cook until thickened. Mix dry ingredients. Cut in butter. Press half of mixture in greased 8x8x2" baking dish. Spread with date mixture and cover with remaining oatmeal mixture. Pat down gently. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
