Biryani is believed to have been brought to the Indian subcontinent by the Mughals, and it has since evolved into numerous regional variations.


Ingredients You'll Need

Rice (biryani rice or basmati rice)
Meat (any variety)
Masala (yellow, red chili, salt, coriander powder, cumin, garam masala, brown powder)
Onion
Ginger
Garlic
Dal
Potato
Sweet spices (if preferred)
Curd or malai
Shahi Jeera
Raisins
Almonds
Cashews

Directions

Wash the rice and cook it in a pressure cooker as usual.


Cut the meat and wash it. Heat oil in a pan and fry onion, ginger, garlic.


Add the meat and fry until lightly browned. Then add masala, dal, potato, sweet spices.


Mix with the rice and turn off the stove to cool.


In an additional pan, cover the top with curd or malai and shahi jeera.


Garnish with raisins, almonds, cashews before serving.
