Double Chocolate Christmas Star Cookies

Ingredients You'll Need
1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup softened butter, divided in two
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
Cookie bling (sparkle sugar, nonpareils, etc.)
Directions
Melt 1/2 cup morsels in a double boiler, stirring until smooth, and set aside
Combine dry ingredients, set aside
Cream 1/4 cup butter, sugar, and vanilla together, add egg
Blend in melted chocolate
Add flour mixture gradually until well combined
Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill 1 hour
Roll chilled dough on floured surface to an 1/8 inch thickness
Cut wit star cookie cutters and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment
Bake 8 - 10 minutes at 350 degrees, cool on a wire rack
Melt together remaining morsels and remaining 1/4 cup butter, stirring until smooth.
Spread over cooled cookies and adorn with cookie bling
