Why I Love This Recipe

I love this recipe because it is something very good for an occasion or for holiday. It is super simple to make and can make a great dessert.

Ingredients You'll Need

5 medium all purpose apples, pared, cored, and sliced.
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed (not evaporated) milk.
1 tsp ground cinnamon.
10 tbsp margarine, cold.
1 1/2 cups biscuit baking mix.
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar.
1/2 chopped nuts.
Vanilla ice cream (optional).

Directions

Preheat oven to 325. In a medium bowl, combine apples, condensed milk, and cinnamon; set aside.

In a large bowl, cut 8 tbsp margarine into 1 cup biscuit mix until crumbly. Stir in apple mixture.

Pour into greased 9 inches square baking pan. In small bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup biscuit mix and sugar; cut in remaining 2 tbsp margarine until crumbly.

Add nuts. Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture. Bake 1 hour or until golden. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
