Why I Love This Recipe

My Aunt recently passed away and I was given her recipe box. She was one who would make wonderful things and share them with everyone, but NOT her recipes.

I made this cake a few months ago and it was wonderful and I am not a white cake person, however, once every year or two I get a craving for one.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening (not butter or margarine)
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
2 cups flour
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tsp. baking powder
pinch salt

Place all ingredients in bowl and beat for 10 minutes.

Put in a 9" x 12" pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
