"There is nothing better than the smell of yeast bread or buns baking in the oven!"

Why I Love This Recipe

Elva's rolls is another family favorite shared by Laura Ripp. This dough would also make fantastic cinnamon rolls, just roll out and top with butter, sugar, and cinnamon then roll up. Yum!

Ingredients You'll Need

1 1/2 cups water (half recipe: 3/4 cups water)
1 cup milk (half recipe: 1/2 cup milk)
3/4 cup crisco (or butter) (half recipe 3/8 cup)
6 cups flour (half recipe: 3 cups flour)
3/4 cup sugar (half recipe: 3/8 cup sugar
1 tsp salt (half recipe: 1/2 tsp salt)
2 eggs (half recipe: 1 egg)
2 pkg yeast or 4 1/2 tsp yeast (1 pkg yeast or 2 1/4 tsp yeast)

Knead down. Form into balls or shapes to bake.

Bake at 350 degrees F until golden. I like to butter the tops when warm out of the oven.

Dough can be kept in the fridge for 2 weeks.
