"At our house, these are where the kids go when the chocolate chips are gone!"

Serves 4 Dozen | Prep Time 15 minutes | Cook Time 12 - 14 minutes

Why I Love This Recipe

The Holidays mean visitors and often with children. More times than not, no matter how many chocolate chip cookies I make, we eventually run out. But the kids tend to like these just as well, so we make these too.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 tub or small jar of Rainbow sprinkles
1 cup of granulated sugar
1/2 cup of butter
1/2 cup of shortening
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 large egg
2-1/2 cups of sifted flour
3/4 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
2 tablespoons of milk

Directions

preheat oven to 400 degrees
Cream the butter (mix it well) until it gets nice and soft
Cover your cookie sheets with parchment paper

once the butter is soft combine the butter, the shortening and the sugar and vanilla together. Mix well.

Sift the flour, the baking soda and the salt together and mix well

Stir in the sifted ingredients until fully blended.

fold in the milk and mix until smooth

Using a tablespoon, scoop up the mixture and using your hands, roll it into a ball

Dip half of the ball ( the top so to speak) in the rainbow sprinkles

drop the balls, sprinkle side up on the parchment paper

bake at 400 for 12 - 14 minutes
