Why I Love This Recipe

This is another nice recipe for a battered fish that is easy and comes out crisp.

Ingredients You'll Need

1 lb. Fish Fillets, cut into 1 1/2 by 2 inch pieces (I like to cut them larger, up to 4 inch pieces)
5 Potatoes cut lengthwise
2/3 Cup Flour
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Tablespoon Vinegar
2/3 Cup Water
Malt or Cider Vinegar
Vegetable Oil
Salt

Directions

Fill fry basket 1/4 full with potatoes. Slowly lower into oil. Fry 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Drain potatoes. Place in single layer on cookie sheet. Combine flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Mix baking soda and 1 Tablespoon vinegar with water. Stir vinegar and water into flour, beating until smooth. Dip fish into batter. Allow excess batter to drip off. Fry until brown. Broil potatoes 6 inches from heat until crisp. Sprinkle potatoes with vinegar and salt.
