Why I Love This Recipe

Warm and crumbly Apple Crisp with a dollop of vanilla ice-cream – It’s sheer magic! The wonderful flavor of crisp apples combined with wholesome oats and a touch of cinnamon. This recipe is best made during the fall and winter months when you get the freshest of apples. http://www.easydinnerrecipes.ca/apple-crisp.html

Ingredients You'll Need

10 cups thinly sliced apples
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/3 cup all-purpose flour (for topping)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup water
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 Cup butter, melted

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 deg. F. Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch pan. Combine the white sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and ground cinnamon together and sprinkle over the apples. Next, pour the water over the apples. Combine the oats, remaining flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together. Crumble the mixture evenly over the layer of apples. Bake for about 45 minutes.

Tips:

Combining two or more varieties of apples gives a wonderful flavor to the dish.
