Festive Eggnog Cake

Ingredients You'll Need
For the Cake:
2 cups flour
1-1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup eggnog
1/2 cup butter, softened
For the Frosting:
1/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup eggnog
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
For the cake: In a large mixing bowl combine all of the ingredients. Blend well with an
electric mixer on low. Grease and flour the bottoms of 2 (9-inch pans); pour batter into
pans.
Bake at 350-degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched in center. Cool. Fill and frost with Eggnog Frosting.
Makes 1 (9-inch) layer cake.
For the Frosting: In a small saucepan, combine flour, salt, and eggnog. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until very thick. Cool.
Gradually cream butter and sugar. Add flour mixture; beat until light and fluffy. Blend in vanilla. Fill and frost cooled cake
