Flan

Why I Love This Recipe
*This is without a doubt the easiest and best tasting flan recipe in my family.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 large can evaporated milk (do not use nonfat!)
1 tsp vanilla extract
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 round Corningware bowl with lid
Directions
In a sauce pan over med/high heat melt the sugar until liquid. Pour the hot liquid into the Corningware and coat the sides and bottom of bowl with the sugar. You will need to wear oven mitts to hold the bowl. The melted sugar is very hot so be careful! Set the bowl aside to cool.
Add the milks and vanilla into a blender. Blend the mixture adding one egg at a time until well mixed. Pour into the prepared Corningware bowl.
Bake covered in a “Bano Maria” for 20 minutes. Uncover and continue baking until a knife inserted in center comes out clean. (I think about 1 hour cooking time total)
Let cool completely. Loose the flan from the edge of the bowl and invert onto a serving dish.
BANO MARIA- The is a water bath. Place the Corningware in a larger pan (I use a lasagna pan) that is filled with water.
