French Onion Soup

Ingredients You'll Need
4 Large yellow onions sliced
6 Tablespoon margarine
1 Tablespoon sugar
8 Chicken bouillon cubes and 2 quarts water
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 Baguette French bread
Romano cheese, grated
Directions
Melt margarine in a saucepan that holds at least 4 quarts. Add diced onions and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes, or until tender, stirring often. Add sugar and cook, stirring for 1 minute. Add bouillon cubes and water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 12 minutes. Season soup with salt and pepper to taste. Place in serving bowls with a toasted slice of the baguette and top with cheese.
