Fresh Strawberry Sauce

"Fresh strawberries, a little sugar, and juice from half a lemon make this delicious sauce."

This fresh strawberry sauce is so much better tasting than canned toppings in the grocery store. It maintains it's fresh strawberry flavor for topping sundaes, cakes, waffles, or cheesecakes.
Ingredients You'll Need
1 lb. strawberries, hulled and thickly sliced
1/3 c. sugar
1 T. lemon juice from 1/2 a lemon
Directions
In a medium saucepan, combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Place over medium heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Mash strawberries, if you wish. Reduce heat to simmer and cook 20 minutes, until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and cool to room temp. Place sauce is glass jar and refrigerate before using.

To top ice cream, waffle or pancakes, as cake filling, or on top of cheesecakes.
